Jean Monty, Ph.D.

Dr. Monty received her Doctorate in Educational Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1993. Prior to that, she received her Master’s Degree and License as a School Psychologist from UWM in 1988. She Interned from APA-accredited Curative Rehabilitation Center, whereby she did rotations at Curative, Froedert, Milwaukee County and Children’s Hospitals from 1991-1992. She continued to work at Curative while completing her Ph.D. The Internship and work at Curative provided extensive experience in Pediatric and Neuropsychological assessment and treatment. In 1994 she was licensed as a Psychologist by the State of Wisconsin. She has worked in private practice and as a consultant for various schools since that time.

In addition to conducting psychological evaluations, Dr. Monty has extensive experience in the treatment of childhood, adolescent and adult issues. Aside from problems that may contribute to anxiety or depression such as grief and loss, trauma (physical, emotional, or sexual), divorce, blended families, alcoholism or other addictions, and sexual orientation, Dr. Monty has extensive experience in the assessment and treatment of such childhood issues as Attention-Deficit, Oppositional Defiance, Asperger’s , and Eating Disorders. Her experience also includes treatment for Panic Disorders, Obsessive-Compulsive, and Bipolar Disorders.

She works with children, adolescents and adults incorporating Cognitive-Behavioral, Mindfulness, and Family Systems components, while still maintaining an understanding of psychodynamic and developmental principles that may have contributed to their etiologies. She also has a strong interest in the treatment of adult Personality Disorders.

Dr. Monty serves Southeastern Wisconsin including the following: Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Sheboygan, Washington, and Waukesha Counties.

Dr. Monty currently resides in Cedarburg, Wisconsin with her four children. They enjoy the great outdoors and hiking as a family.
